Swayam Siddhi Initiative on “Plastic Free Bhiwandi”
The cleanliness drive started with the “Awareness campaign and collection of plastic waste” at the college campus and nearby localities.
Swayam Siddhi Degree Night College, Bhiwandi has taken an initiative to create awareness on harmful effects of plastic on environment, with an aim to make the college and its environment “Plastic Free Zone.”
The plastic free cleanliness drive was organized by Nature’s club in association with Project Mumbai.org from 23/9/2019 to 4/10/2019. The cleanliness drive started with the “Awareness campaign and collection of plastic waste” at the college campus and nearby localities.
On 5th October, 2019 the event commenced with the active participation of the staff and students. 39 students participated and they were divided in 4 groups, electing one as leader.
The students sorted the collected plastic into different bags and created awareness among all students and staff to “Say No to Plastic” by slogans “We all win if we get rid of plastics”
After sorting of plastic waste into groups a truck from ProjectMumbai.org came for collecting all the plastic waste for recycling purpose.
The programme concluded with the support, active co-ordination and teamwork of Natuer’s club members under the guidance of Principal sir Uzma Momin
